HoD's Message

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Information Technology Department at Government Polytechnic College, Purapuzha. This program has established itself as one of the premier technical education programs in the region.

The Department of Information Technology has become a full-fledged department with advanced laboratory facilities to train the students to meet the current needs of the fast changing industrial scenario. The Information Technology Department provides excellent environment for training in computer hardware and software. With ever increasing demand for software and hardware professionals in IT field, the course provides ample opportunities for employment in India and abroad.

The department offers three year Diploma course in Information Technology. The annual intake is 66 students. The curriculum has been systematically designed to mould a competent IT professional to cater the needs of industry and R&D. Periodical updation of the syllabus is also done in order to keep pace with changes in modern software and hardware fields.

Programme Outcomes (POs)

• PO 1. Basic and Discipline specific knowledge: Apply knowledge of basic mathematics, science and engineering fundamentals and engineering specialization to solve the engineering problems.
• PO 2. Problem analysis: Identify and analyse well-defined engineering problems using codified standard methods.
• PO 3. Design / development of solutions: Design solutions for well-defined technical problems and assist with the design of systems components or processes to meet specified needs.
