Awareness Programme on Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan 2025


As part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan 2025, Government Polytechnic College, Purapuzha organised an awareness programme on 13 August 2025 in association with the NCC and NSS units of the college. The programme began with a welcome address by Dr. Diya Varghese. Smt. Binu B. R., Principal of the college, delivered the presidential address and highlighted the importance of building a drug-free society. The technical sessions were led by eminent officers from the Excise Department, Thodupuzha Station:

  • Sri. Rajesh P. R., Circle Inspector
  • Shri. Dinsad, Sub Inspector
  • Sri. Vishnu T. P., Civil Excise Officer

They delivered insightful and thought-provoking sessions on drug abuse, its harmful effects, legal implications, and its severe physical and psychological consequences. Their interactive presentations helped the students understand the urgency of preventing substance abuse among youth.NCC Officer Lt. Dileesh Mathew and NSS Programme Officer Smt. Jincy Joseph actively participated in the programme, motivating students to promote the message of a drug-free campus and community.As the concluding part of the programme, all students of GPC Purapuzha participated in a pledge-taking ceremony, affirming their commitment to staying away from drugs and spreading awareness in society.This was followed by a vote of thanks delivered by Sri. MD Sudheer KM, Head of the Department of Information Technology.

The programme successfully inspired the students to take responsibility in the fight against substance abuse and to uphold the vision of a healthy, progressive, and drug-free India.
